Gerente Senior de Engenharia e Manutenção

The role provides strategic, tactical, governance and operational support to the operations for all activities related to engineering and maintenance. Accountable to the Engineering International Operations, the role forms an integral part of the International Operations engineering technical team. Based in Nova Lima (with frequent travel to site), this senior level role serves as the first point of contact for engineering and maintenance support in Brazil and Argentina. 

The main tasks of the role include but are not limited to:

• Modelling behavior that is consistent with the AGA Safety Vision and Values, assisting in driving a culture where Safety is our first value, and providing support for incident/accident investigations where required.
• Provide engineering technical support and leadership to the operations and other departments in the region.
• Develop appropriate engineering strategies to de-risk the operations and meet overall business objectives.
• Establish processes and systems to optimize the performance and reliability of plant and infrastructure.
• Develop standards, procedures and specifications and roll out best practices across the organization.
• Act as the single point of contact to coordinate and provide specialist engineering support to the operations.
• Coordinate the annual Stay-in-Business capital planning process and perform reviews to ensure projects are technically sound from a design, maintainability and operability perspective.
•  Actively participate in the integrated planning process and review maintenance and engineering deliverables.  
•   Provide assurance and governance relating to the engineering and maintenance discipline.
• Develop continuous improvement projects in conjunction with the site Engineering/Maintenance Managers to optimize overall equipment effectiveness and reduce unit costs.
• Compile and coordinate the implementation of asset management strategies for key equipment and infrastructure. Ensure standardization of strategies across operations and alignment with the overall engineering strategy.
• Equipment life cycle optimization and development of associated strategies, which includes selecting appropriate maintenance and operating standards.
• Equipment and Project design reviews including design specifications, cost reviews, operability and maintainability studies.
• Mentor, assist and guide engineering and maintenance personnel to execute their duties according to discipline specific objectives, standards and operating procedures.

The ideal candidate will possess:

·        At least 15 years relevant experience in the discipline, preferably from the gold or base metals mining sectors.

·      Strong interpersonal, influencing and communication skills with an ability to work effectively with professional, high performing individuals and teams.

·        Advanced English. Fluency in English is a prerequisite for this role.  

·        The ability to organize work, manage multiple competing priorities and exercise sound independent judgement.

·        The capacity to make sound tactical decisions – assemble and interpret data to successfully action priorities.

·        A performance driven, energetic approach to delivering work with a preparedness to take a well-reasoned stance on matters of importance.

·        A track record of finding practical and innovative solutions in maintenance/asset management, with strong focus on infrastructure, fixed and mobile plant.

·        A comprehensive understanding of mining equipment and maintenance practices including work management, defect elimination, tactic development and asset integrity.

·        Advanced project management competencies and engineering design experience. 

·        Existing and ongoing working rights in Brazil.

·        Well-developed industry networks.

·        Strong track record in Marc and contractor mining management.

Qualifications:

·        Bachelor’s degree in relevant Engineering Discipline (Mechanical or Electrical).

·        Post-graduate qualifications would be highly regarded.
